Chronic pain app

A chronic pain app for practicing mind-body skills

Nervana gives people with persistent pain a guided way to learn about the brain-body connection and practice nervous-system skills at home or between appointments.

Educational support for persistent symptoms. Not a substitute for medical or mental-health care.

The wider picture

When pain stays, the picture can be bigger than the place that hurts

Persistent pain can come from tissue or nerve changes, a nervous system that has become more protective, or several things at once. Sleep, stress, fear, attention, and past experiences can all turn the volume up or down.

None of that makes the pain imaginary. Pain is a real experience created by a brain and body working together. Once serious or treatable causes have been evaluated, mind-body work gives you another part of that system to work with.

Nervana helps you put the ideas into practice. The sessions are intentionally short: something you can use on an ordinary Tuesday, not another healing project that takes over your life.

Inside the program

What you can do in the Nervana app

There is no single trick here. The app helps you learn, practice, and come back to the work when pain makes it hard to remember what you know.

01

Learn why pain can persist

Short lessons explain pain, protective brain patterns, attention, fear, and nervous-system sensitivity in plain language.

02

Practice a different response

Guided somatic and nervous-system exercises help you meet safe sensations with more curiosity and less alarm.

03

Notice your own patterns

Simple reflections help you notice when symptoms change, what else was happening, and what helps your system feel safer.

04

Get support between sessions

The AI coach helps you think through a flare or fear and apply what you are learning to real life.

Choosing support

Is a chronic pain app the right kind of support for you?

Nervana may fit if

  • You have had an appropriate medical evaluation and want to explore nervous-system factors alongside your existing care.
  • You want a guided daily structure instead of collecting more disconnected tips.
  • You prefer short lessons and practices you can repeat at home.
  • You want help noticing patterns without being told your pain is “all in your head.”

Seek other support when

  • You have new, rapidly changing, severe, or unexplained symptoms that need medical attention.
  • You need a diagnosis, medication advice, emergency help, or treatment for a known medical condition.
  • You want hands-on care or individualized treatment from a licensed clinician.

Common questions

What people ask before trying an app

Can an app help with chronic pain?

An app can make pain education and regular practice easier to access. Whether it helps depends on the person, the pain, the program, and how it is used. It cannot tell you why you hurt or replace appropriate medical care.

Does Nervana say chronic pain is psychological?

No. Pain is a real physical experience. Nervana teaches how the brain, body, nervous system, attention, stress, emotions, and environment can interact. Some people have primarily structural pain, some have primarily neuroplastic pain, and many have a mixed picture.

What is included in Nervana?

Nervana includes short education, guided nervous-system and somatic practices, reflection, progress check-ins, and supportive AI coaching.

Can I use Nervana with physical therapy or medical treatment?

Many people use educational mind-body support alongside clinician-directed care. Your medical team can help you decide what is appropriate and whether any activities should be modified for you.
