What does a mind-body coach do?+
A mind-body coach can help you understand how attention, fear, stress, emotion, behavior, and nervous-system responses may interact with persistent symptoms. Sessions may include education, reflection, goal setting, and practices to use between meetings. The exact approach depends on the coach and their training.
Is a mind-body coach the same as a doctor or therapist?+
No. Coaching is a different service. A coach does not diagnose a medical condition, prescribe medication, provide emergency care, or replace care from a licensed clinician. Some coaches may separately hold clinical licenses or other credentials, so review each profile and ask what scope applies to your sessions.
How do I choose a mind-body coach?+
Look for relevant training, experience with your goals, a clearly explained approach, transparent pricing and policies, and a communication style that feels safe and collaborative. Ask how the coach handles medical concerns, privacy, progress, and coordination with your existing care team.
Can mind-body coaching cure chronic pain or other symptoms?+
No responsible coach can promise a cure. Some mind-body approaches may help some people manage pain, fear, stress, or daily function, but results vary and chronic symptoms can have many causes. New, severe, or changing symptoms should be medically evaluated.
Can I use the Nervana app and a human coach together?+
Yes. The Nervana app can help you learn, reflect, and practice between human-coaching sessions. Human coaching is optional, private, and purchased separately from the Nervana membership.
